Since the final novel of The Rufino Factor is going to be written from Kiralyn's perspective, I wanted to get some practice in beforehand. The purpose of Frostwhisper is to solidify Kiralyn's status as a main character in The Rufino Factor, because although she's not the title character, the series wouldn't exist without her. As the series progresses, she's going to become more and more important, so it was necessary to build the foundation of her character now. I'm quite pleased with the result, so I can say with certainty that Kiralyn's going to get more short stories in the coming years. The next one will almost certainly be about her battle against the master demonologist, Krexin Vath, three-and-a-third years before Leap of Faith.
